So you are getting married and your man needs a wedding band.. or you saw a beautiful off-center sapphire ring on our Facebook page... or there's a really special ring that was displayed at Kamers but it wasn't in your size... or...you just want something special.. We would love to help you!
If you would like us to make you something special, we would love to meet up with you and talk about it! Consultations happen by appointment only so feel free to send us an email via the contact page or by giving us a call on the cellphone number provided there. Our studio is not open to the public unless arranged otherwise beforeand.
LET'S MEET UP
If you are from the Pretoria area, we can arrange to meet at a coffee shop nearby. A couple of images or sketches are always helpful for us to get a better idea of what it is you are looking for, so feel free to bring them along!
If you stay elsewhere in South Africa, we will be happy to chat with you via email or Skype.
WHAT MATERIALS DO YOU USE?
We work with Sterling silver, Gold, Platinum, Palladium and mokume gane.
DO YOU RESET STONES IN OLD JEWELLERY
Unfortunately, we don't work on old pieces of jewellery (unless it's one of our own designs). We can refer you to a couple of local stone setters if you don't know where to find one!
CAN YOU MELT MY INHERITED GOLD RING AND MAKE SOMETHING NEW?
If you have inherited jewellery, we will happily weigh out the metal content and deduct that amount from your material costs. We prefer using our own gold or silver to make something new for you and send the metal you give us to the refiner. We do this because we are unable to predict the alloys used in your jewellery piece so this may cause problems during production. In rare and special cases, when we are sure of the alloys used in your jewellery, we might make an exception to our general rule and use your gold in a new piece.
DO YOU WORK IN TITANIUM?
We outsource the production of Titanium rings or parts in a piece to a friend in the trade for custom designs.
During our consultation, we will measure your ring size and make a note of it. If you are not based in Pretoria and cannot have your ring size measured with us, please do so at any other qualified jeweler in your area. Be sure to mention the width that your desired ring would be so that it can be taken into account when finding the size - ring sizes normally increase as your ring becomes wider.
Please see our sizing guide for more information on this topic.
